I visited it during 26-Nov and 02-Dec-2007 for 6 nights. The experience was excellent. The room, resort, hospitality, food, beach all were very good and made our stay worth remembering for years to come.
I got my booking after going through a lot of hassles and false promises by Travel Agency. We were supposed to get a superior room. But due to some mistake by CM people, we got a Studio apartment. CM intially wanted to change it, but later on they allowed us to live in same room. It had a microwave oven, coffee/tea maker, all utensils, 4 chairs in dry kitchen. There was a small balcony, having tow chairs and a small table. A small sofa with table was also given. A dressing table was also present. The room was nicely cleaned everyday, bed sheets changed every alternate day. In the evening, there were small events like magic show, goa dances, games in the resort from 7 pm to 8:45 pm.
Now the bad part. Taxi and food prices are sky rocketing here. For nearest stop-Colva or Margo, which are approx 13-14 km, tehy charge Rs 400/- one side and Rs 600/- for return trip (if wait time is less than 1 hour). Taxi union does not allow outside taxis to come and pick you up from resort. On return, the same taxi from a local vendor costs around Rs 200/- instead of Rs 400/-, an auto costs even less Rs 150/-. So you can feel the difference well. In other places, water sports cost half than the costs available at club Mahindra. Being a non-member, we had to pay huge costs for food. One dinner for a couple costs Rs 1, 012/-.
Good part is that we found each and every employee happy with his/her job. The morning chef and restaurant staff was more than happy to serve us. A lot of vegetarian variety Indian (both North and South)food was available.
