The last channel anyone would think of watching is this one.This is aimed at financial heads but in times like now , i dont think even they are bothered to know of financial markets.
But my cablewallah seem to be hell bent on providing this one to us, but surprisingIy I have found some programmes that is of interst to me and if I rate some of the top 10 programmes that I hate to miss in a week , ironically 2 of them is attributed to the ones aired on this channel.But sadly those are the only 2 programmes I recommend you to watch.Any guess which are those ? The answer is there right in my title.JAY LENO and CONAN ’O BRIAN.
I find talk shows absolutely boring , except for the ones like Larry king live.But JAY LENO and CONAN rules. I cant categroise them as talk shows exaclty.Infact Shekar Suman tried to bring in the same concept in Indian TV by copying the exact format from these shows in his famous ’’Movers and Shakers’’ .And Shekhar was infact good , eventhough he overacted sometimes. SO now you may have got the idea of what these shows have to offer.
These guys JAY and CONAN make screwballs of every personality they come across .The most popular guy who seem to have tickled their fancy nowadays seems to be Geroge BUsh .I promise that if Saddam is ever gonna see these shows he is gonna honour these guys with highest iraqi presidential honours, as Bush is virtually painted as a buffon, very similar to our Vajpayee by Shekhar, but that was too comical, but here its too satarical and hard to stomach .
The other day CONAN , was making an observation that it is in best interest of US that they try out the option of choosing a lady president for a change , else this Bush and likes will be declaring war every 28 days on someone ....The 2 prime reason for invading IRAQ as per bush is , economy and unemployment... Do you know that Sareena Williams is debuting in a TV sitcom next week and even bigger surprising news is Anna Kournikova is making guest appearnce in a exhibition tennis match .....it is very diffcult to put into words into those sattarical humours, but you have got to watch them.Its aired only on weekends as late night edition.
The next thing interesting thing is the interviews with some 2-3 celebreties.This interview is not like when were you born, his past , his affairs or autobiographical concerning the celebrity in question, but its a general chat on some vague topic and very wry, lewd and hillarious.IT can be one hell of a tough time to be at the recieveing end to be interviewed, on these kind of a shows, unlike Oprah kind of boring talk shows which paints even Jack the Ripper to be a good samaritan.I remember an episode where Sienfeld was on the sets and if you bring LENO and Seinfeld together, you can expect it can be one laugh riot, with each of them poking fun at each other most of the times . One joke from Sienfeld on the show concerning his recent marriage....The best or worst thing of marriage is not that you have decided upon a person, but the fact that you have decided to reject hundred other more eligble ones .....
So you see even , worst of the channels can have something good to offer , and in this case its LENO and BRIAN.Enjoy.
