Confessions of a Coke Addict

It has been two hours since I’ve had my last hit and the memory of how that sweet burning sensation felt going down my throat still lingers. Yes, I must confess that I am totally addicted to Coca Cola. Just the sight of the red can makes me salivate in an oddly Pavlovian fashion.

I can remember being knee high to a grasshopper and holding that curvy glass bottle in my hand...putting peanuts in....gulping down the caramel concoction in one huge gulp. It started years ago when my family would choose Coca Cola over ’’that other drink’’. I found myself enjoying each cold can of Coke and soon found myself longing for the next one, a sure sign of an addict in the making.

I suppose the saying ’’Always, Coca Cola’’ rings true in my case because after twenty-five years my love for the soda still stands strong.

I can’t advocate any health benefits for this drink or I’d be lying. Drink in moderation if you must but do drink for Coca Cola is not a drink to be missed. Your taste buds will thank you!

I hope I’ve offered a passionate plea for all of you thursters out there in singing the praises of my favorite drink in the world. Yes, I’d love to buy the world a Coke but I’d drink it before it got passed around.

Now for some cold, hard facts about Coca Cola:

A twelve ounce can serving size has 140 calories, no fat, 50 mg sodium, 39 g total carbs, and no protein.

Coca Cola consists of carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup and/or sucrose, caramel color, phosphoric acid, natural flavors, and of course caffeine.

Coca Cola was invented in 1886 by a druggist by the name of Dr. John S Pemberton and was marketed as a ’’nerve and brain tonic’’.

The original formula actually contained traces of cocaine from the coca leaves the formula was made with.

The slogan ’’Good To The Last Drop’’ originally was used to describe Coca Cola in 1908.

Coca Cola is the world’s most recognized trademark.

Coca Cola is very pleasing in taste and produces a bit of a ’’bite’’ when going down the throat due to the phosphoric acid. I’ve heard that Coca Cola will clean the rust off of a nail and eat through aluminum foil but don’t know how true that is.

I recommend Coca Cola to all soft drink lovers. The quality is number one. I’ve never been disappointed with this product. Twelve pack cans range from $2.50 to $4.00. Coca Cola is also sold in plastic and glass bottles.

Warnings:

You will experience a rush of energy after drinking Coca Cola and may become nervous or fidgety if you drink too much.

It is very hard to avoid drinking too much due to the pleasant taste.

If you aren’t careful, the cans will disappear quickly when you aren’t the only one who has access to them.

You may just enjoy this product too much. A sure sign of this is when you laugh so hard you spew Coca Cola out of your nose. Then is when you truly experience Coca Cola!

Drink up all.

Coca Cola products include Sprite and Barq’s Root Beer.
