Coca Cola is not for me. I do not like it for various reasons. I do not like its colour, and its odour. I do not like the shape of the bottle which contains Coca Cola. It is a fizzy drink, and I do not like fizzy drinks. And the most important reason is that its roots are not in India, but in USA. I have observed people who drink Coca Cola and can say without an iota of doubt that it is habit forming. Does it contain a very minute trace of Opium ? A bottle of Coke costs Rs.10/- and the large plastic bottles cost much more.
When there are so many indigenous drinks available in the market, and when they are better packed, why go in for Coca Cola?. It is ugly looking. Mazaa is a drink prepared out of Mango, and tastes a thousand times better. Why are the people crazy about Coke, the nick name for Coca Cola? There are drinks prepared out of Lichu, and they are very refreshing. What about Lassi ? Can any drink match with this soothing and tasty drink having food value ? And its cousin, the Butter Milk ? A must for any South Indian meal like Sambhar and Rasam ?
My State (Orissa) has plenty of Coconut trees in the coastal areas, like Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Mangalore in South Canara District of Karnataka. When I am thirsty, I take green Coconut water. It is refreshing and the bonus I get is the tender Coconut meat. But, I get upset when young men and women prefer to have Coke, as they have preferred to wear Jeans and Tops. Whom are they aping ?
With all said and done, my most favourite drink is a glass of water served to me in a glass tumbler by my wife. Yes, I mean it my friend!
