The Cafe Coffee day in nungambakam isphani center is a very famous joint for meeting friends, atleast that was what my college going daughter said, when I was wondering where to meet my long time friends whom I saw some 20 years back in school. we decided to meet there and went in to find the place very crowded. groups of friends merrily chatting away unmindfull of time and money of course.
the seating arrangment was very cramp and I could see there were two types of seating arrangement. one was the comfortable sofa type seating where 4 people can be accommodated and the regular square marbonite tables with 4 chairs. the former looked very cozy and comfortable whilst the table and chair seating I felt was for small kids. when we found a place and sat down the table was somewhere down my lap and I thought it would be very aweful to get my food from where it was to my mouth.
no body really cared to come up and take the order. until we have to show our hands a couple of times after half hour. whatever we asked for( a simple veg sandwich) was not available. finally we settled for black forest cake with ice cream and some tea. the service was aweful indeed as it took them very long to serve us what we asked for. even after we finished our chatting and even the cakes and tea we had to wave our hands out for our check. I really had a stiff neck and a bad back ache sitting on that terrible table. they definitely need to do something about that immediately. I could see why except the tables all other seats were occupied even if there were just 2 people sitting. wish we choose a better place or we could rather have sat at the steps outside with a pack of pop corn.
