I have used Colgate toothpaste for many years. Colgate is easily found on many supermarket shelves today, whether independent or part of a large chain, chemists or even in many dentist surgeries.
Yes, I am wary of Dental Fluorosis but I find that Colgates products do not usually cause me any problems, that is until I used Colgate’s Whitening Toothpaste. If I sound like a broken record, sorry in advance, but I HATE dental surgery to the extent that I am sedated to have my teeth polished!
Did you know that one in four people though out the world use Colgate products, (according to Colgate)? Colgate whitening claims to give whiter teeth, fight bad breath plus cavities, prevent Gingivitis and control tartar build up. The toothpaste, also, claims to strengthen teeth whilst having proven fluoride protection. ( http://www.just4teeth.com) It also has a unique formula which prevents it from being washed away by food and drink and is recommended by many dentists, mine included. The unique whitening formula is supposed to become apparent after regular use, whatever is meant by this statement!
Colgate Whitening seemed a great product if it worked, so I just had to try. I remember the advert with The Ring of Confidence Smile (around 1970s and beyond!) and thought maybe that could be me that beautiful hostess flying of to sunny parts! Wrong, instead of a wonderful smile I was back in the dentists chair. This toothpaste sensitised my teeth with its abrasive quality and the stronger flavour only served to give me mouth ulcers. One the plus side I did have fresh breath! As a result, I had to stop using this product due to the side effects, wasting the £1.89, which I had paid for the tube.
I have read favourable reports on this product and still use other tooth pastes in the Colgate range of 15. Looking on the Colgate website, https://colgate-palmolive.com, I notice that Colgate Whitening is changing its name and becoming part of the Total range. I wonder if the formulation is changing at all? Well, I will have to wait and see won’t I?!..
