Warning: It’s more of personal experience than a review.

Who does not like his/her own college?

amm..I guess a very few!!!

Hey hey hey...M not one of those few...in case its sounding like it.

Details of college*

*C.T.A.E affiliated by M.P.U.A.T.

Yes!!! I belong to this college. This college belongs to me. We(batchmates) preferred calling it C.T.E, the removal of A, as it is no more ’only’ an agricultural college.

It started way back in 1964 with engineering degree only in Agriculture.

Now It offers a B.E. degree in

Comp Sc & Engg (Jotting this as the firts one....already guessed y? yup! M a Comp Engineer :)

Electrical Engg

Mechanical Engg

Mining Engg

Electronics & Comm Engg (Recently introduced branch)

and ofcourse...the best known branch of the college ’Agricultural Engg’

The college also offers Master’s program (M. E. and Ph. D. Degree) in Processing and Food Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Sources and Irrigation Water Management.

*My Experience

*I remember comparing & cursing my college in the very beginning. But gradulally, all that faded away. I developed a sense of belonging.

Ragging

I gave voluntary ragging :D

Sounds weird?? It won’t when you know the C.T.E. culture. Ragging sessions for juniors are organized by seniors but they are unlike other ragging sessions which send tremors and make you feel disgusted.

It instead makes you smile, even laugh...sometimes the laughter becomes uncontrollable on which you get punished. The punishment is also something comical.

All in all, you..oops...sorry....it’s me...I enjoyed being ragged :)

Cultural Activities

The ’Tech Fest’ is organized by the college every year. All interested students get a chance to exhibit their talents.

I particularly liked Skit. The time spent during practicing those skit along with my ’Skit Group’ is something I relish till now.

There is another cultural event ’Youth Fest’ where winners of Tech Fest can participate. It’s conducted at all India level wherein students from all the agriculture universities across India gather at one place and the whole town gets to njoy the events being organized.

At my time, the ’Youth Fest’ was held at Udaipur itself. And we had a wonderful one month preparing for that.

Even thinking of that brings that curve on my lips :)

Sports

Sports like TT, Badminton, Basket-ball, Volleyball etc are facilitated by the college Admin. Tournaments at various levels are also organized.

Can’t say much on it as I have experience only in one game--Basket Ball.

Being a novice player I njoyed the basket ball training sessions very much. Although I was not an excellent player but still got a chance to represent college team. I simply luved that Team Spirit and sincerity with which we practiced and played. Basket Ball became a religion for us then :)

Outing

During these four years, we just had one chance to go on a college trip in final year (accompanied by staff). ’Bombay-Goa.’

Oh mannnn!!!!! The trip was simply amazing.

Yes! we did face some difficulties with the bus and the driver and some students fighting amongst themselves (and becoming a source of entertainment for others...especially gals ;...not sure whether I should be saying this :P) but those who wanted to enjoy did that fully.

That was one time when you were with your frenz whole day n night. Being together is a great feeling.

O....how I miss those old days....especially after mentioning this Goa Trip...

It’s always said that college time is the best period of your life. Reminiscence of this trip makes me believe that this saying is true.

StudiesHere comes the last point...and frankly I don have anything to write under this...either about the course offered or the quality.

All I can say is...yes! We did study. And studied hard during Exam Times.

Fullstop.

Phew!!!! It has become a long one huh? What to do...cant stop myself from penning down thoughts about college life.

Hey...i know you are bored of reading now...but I cant miss writing about this:

What my College gave me*

*Well...as of today I spend around 10 hrs in office(HCL Tech) and rest of the time with Hubby dear.

And dono hi mere college ki den hai J

I got selected in HCL via campus. And my hubby dear has done his degree from C.T.E(2 years senior to me)..hmm ahmm la laa...stop imagining our college luv story...it’s an arranged marriage :)

(Kya yaar pehle nahi pata tha otherwise wdnt have missed those wonderful 2 years ;))

This concludes that my college has given me my life :)
