COLORS Tv channel did lot of publicity for itself like NDTV imagine and 9x channel.But the most attention was caught by Akshay Kumar who has been given an undisclosed amount for one of its dare devilry program in which he is shown to be leading a bunch of so called brave people who are kissing snakes and lying in a pool of rats for example and other such things.Frankly speaking, i don’t like such programs which generate repulsion in people by their visuals.But may be some people like it, thatswhy such programs are being shown.
Two more serials on evening prime time are JAI SHRI KRISHNA and BALIKAVADHU.
JAI SHRI KRISHNA is old tale retold with lot of special effects and grand sets.
But one serial that I liked is BALIKABADHU.Its about child marriages conducted in Rajasthan.It shows police connivance with people who follow this tradition and whosoever tries to do something against it is failed because nobody testifies against such people because all of them believe in this tradition.Its story of a village teacher who tries to take action against such tradition but is frustrated as the young girl herself is so terrified by emotional blackmail of her parents that she doesn’t testify against them.Some of the artistes acting in this serial are Bhairavi Raichura, Surekha Sikri and Ashish Soni.
There are some more serials but I haven’t seen them.But the channel has tried to put up some different programs to audience.One is a usual interview programme by Sajid Khan.
