I got admitted to Columbia Asia Mysore Hospital for a minor Surgery. The service was expensive but it was very good. The operation went on very smoothly with very efficient doctors like Dr.Lavanya Shenoy and anaesthetist. All hell broke loose when it was time for my discharge. No one informed that the Nurse was supposed to take me down to the front desk.
I called the front desk and said I would like to get discharged and they said I could. I packed and left for the canteen to have coffee before settling the biil, from no where this nurse came and started shouting at me saying I was supposed to come out and they should bring me down. She created a scene and eveyone started looking at us. I don’t mind in she telling me to go back to the room, but there is a way to say it and that was not the right way.
After that I came back to my room, the finance desk informed me to come down and make settlement to provide the discharge clearance and the nurse says I am not supposed to go out of the room till they get the discharge clearance. So I was stuck and did not know what to do. After they spoke to each other they came to a consensus.There should be better communication between internal teams.
One more advice: - If you are going for cashless hospitalization with Medidssit, please start the discharge process early. If you get admitted on Thursday night 8 PM, then you have to start the discharge process by at least 2 pm afternoon the next day as it takes 6 hours for Mediassit to approve. My discharge process started at 6 PM in the evening and I ended up paying one more day charge( which is huge) as my insurance got approved only at 11 PM in the night.
