The Plot:
The movie, Commando 2 which is a sequel to the 2013 action movie Commando is based on the recent Indian demonetization and to get back an unaccounted huge load of black money from outside the country, a covert commando(Vidyut Jammwal) is chosen. Accompanied with a team of corrupt police officers and a computer geek, they are on a black money trail to Malaysia to catch hold of some Vicky Chadha, the king pin who manages all the so called “black” monetary transactions.
From here on a similar, desi “Catch Me If You Can” is started with a huge load of breathtaking action sequences. The story is completely absurd with Iron Man like hi tech computer systems, Matrix’s Agent Smith’s like black suited men all collectively carrying suitcases that seems to carry an extremely hi-tech laptop which is the sole instrument in carrying out all the transactions with the authorization of Vicky Chaddha, Retina scan, fingerprint impression, blah, blah…
With sudden car chase, jumping off from high rise buildings, nonstop gun shots in a wholesale manner, looks like the team is carrying a truckload of weapons, this movie tries to keep its pace in a not knowing where to go destination.
Cast Performance:
The Commando, or Karan(Vidyut Jammwal) is good with his actions, only reason for watching the movie, and Maria or Vicky Chaddha(Esha Gupta) tries her best to be a nasty villain with whatever action sequences assigned to her. The rest of the star cast seems to be a completely out of focus with meaningless chase and running.
Sound Track:
Rather a strong confusing noise with high levels of distortion and sometimes gets too loud when the gravity defying stunts are at its peak, although one of the songs, “Tere Dil Mein” is good and soothing for the ears.
Cinematography:
The sudden zooming on biceps and triceps to let the viewer understand that you need to have muscles to perform action, and aerial views of car chase now and then does not suffice to keep the viewer wanting for more and gets one to think “when this trail will end?”!
Just like demonetizing the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes, this movie could have put some of the issues of “Swachh Bharat” mission.
