I’ve bought this 2517AT on 30 June 2004 by paying cash Rs. 60, 000/- The dealer promised that he would install genuine MS windows Xp O/S and genuine antivirus with one year validity as a package deal. However I realised that what he installed is pirated Windows Xp and antivirus.
The laptop started giving me problems of slow internet speed from 3 month onwards and everytime it was shown to the authorised service center they said it is working perfectly but within few days same problem used to ccure. sometimes the problem occured within some hours of bringing back the laptop. Within a year my laptop has seen service centres more than 20 times. Once it was sent to their Bangalore hear quarter for one month but no solution.
Finally they offered me a replacement but did not give me the genuine windows Xp O/S and antivirus hence I did not return the old one. But to my surprise the replacement which was supposed to be a new piece found to be used and non working piece.
I have been very badly duped by the company of such repute. I am just fed up following up with their service personnel. I contacted their Singapore office (Asia head office) and also their hear quarter at US but my complaint has fallen on deaf ears. The people just are numb to customer complaints and think that they have made some kind of favour by selling their products to us.
I would like to warn people thinking of buying any COMPAQ products. Their products and service is of third rate. I just can not explain it in more dirty words than this. I’m just fed up and feel that I have put my hard earned Rs. 60, 000 down the drain and have bought a head ache for me.
