I have a Compaq Presario 7360 I bought in 2000. For some reason, it crashed and erased eveything. Including the drivers. I thought they came on the Blue diagnostic cd, but they don’t. I haven’t been able to use the system for over 2 years.
I called Compaq ( now HP) and they want to charge me over 60$ just for the drivers. I cannot reformat the computer because the cd rom drive doesn’t work. It’s not detected through the bios. I found the original driver on the computer, but when I go to install it, it gives an error message saying there’s something wrong with the command.com line.
I’ve tried to find the drivers online, with no success. I’ve even tried to download one of those Driver Scanners, but they want me to pay to download the drivers. Isn’t there a way to get the drivers without paying an arm and a leg?
I’m at my wits end with this machine. Maybe I’ll use it for parts. If anyone can help I’d really appreciate it.
