Coolpad Note 3 Lite Review

Coolpad Note 3 Lite:-

The CoolPad Note 3 Lite is simply the 5-inch version of the original 5.5-inch Note 3 smartphone which was launched for Rs 8, 999. While the bigger Note 3 runs a 64-bit 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 CPU, the 5-inch Lite version runs on a 64 bit 1GHz quad-core MT 6735 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM with support for microSD card. Other specs are almost similar.

Specs: -

5-inch 720p HD, 320 dpi IPS display| Android 5.1-based Cool UI| 64 bit 1GHz quad-core MT 6735 processor| 3GB RAM| 16GB ROM| up to 32GB expandable| 13MP A/F rear camera with LED Flash| 5MP front camera| Dual SIM| 4G support

Price: Rs 6, 999(Exclusively on Amazon.in)

What is good?:-

For starters, the device offers a good grip and is pretty handy. Though it is made of plastic, the device has a decent build quality. Coolpad has include a good display panel in the Note 3 Lite. The viewing angles are good along with the colour and contrast ratio. The screen is reflective, so, outdoor visibility is not the best at low brightness.

The Cool UI is pretty smooth and neat. You have all the essentials from the start. On the performance front, the device is well equipped to tackle the daily usage of most average users. Games work fine, but expect some lag while playing high-end games. There is no heating problem as such in this device, that hinders performance.

The camera quality is at par with other smartphones in this price range. Coolpad has included a lot of software customisation in the camera department. On the other hand, the selfie camera is surprisingly good.

Overall, the device should easily please any buyer for this price. And of course, the fingerprint scanner makes life easy.

What is not that good?:-

While Coolpad has ticked all the boxes in the budget segment with its Note 3 Lite, my only issue was that the battery takes exceptionally more time to get fully charged. Also, the battery lasts for a day at maximum on one full charge.

Verdict:-

Coolpad Note 3 Lite is no doubt a good offering for its price. It offers a great value for money and if you are worrying about after sales, then note that Coolpad has already partnered with Videocon for local manufacturing. So, it is expected servicing shouldn’t be an issue.
