Escape to a paradise

About 120 Kms from Mysore, Coorg(kodagu) is an excellent tourist destination. Far away from the chaos of the city, a beautiful place with good looking people. I had been there with my husband last month.

The monsoon season was nearing it’s end, so, there was just a mild drizzle... Made the place even more heavenly.. As our car got to the speed of 70-80, I was a bit scared with the twists and turns of the road.. Nevertheless, our driver knew the place well and moreover, there were few vehicles on the road.. Madikeri(Mercara) is a small town with houses on hill tops and absolutely, no pollution .. On the way to our hotel, Coorg international, we saw a small tibetian village and NAMDROLING monastry which is a huge buddhist temple with huge golden statues. At madikeri, we visited elephant camp and stepped into clear, flowing serene waters of Cauvery...

The next day, we visited cauvery nisargadama and thalai cauvery. Nisargadama is a holy place with bhagandeswara temple near it. Thalai cauvery too, is a temple but, also offers a breath taking view of the town with a view point at a height of over 3000 ft. Abby falls are also beautiful, but, we r not allowed to step in the water. Nevertheless, good spot for photo-session.

I loved the place so much, that I felt it extremely difficult to come back... Now, as I sit in my apartment in the buzzling city of hyderabad, I still think of the Coorg and feel a longing to go back and stay for just a few more days...
