The trailers of the movie and the makeover of Bipasha and KK and Madhur Bhandarkar...there were reasons aplenty for me to watch this movie on Sunday, 12 noon. I knew I would never be disappointed since I watch only those movies, I feel are worth a price. Corporate was just too good, though I am not sure whether thats how a corporate functions (I guess the sleazy part of competitiveness was stretched a bit too far).
Bipasha was a clincher, with her bold looks and a clear punch on her critics face who would scream about that she cannot act. Well, she has made us forget her pastry roles in Jism and the like. A level-headed girl, Nishigandha Dasgupta, is a divorcee, but in love with Riteish, brother-in-law of her company CEO Vinay Sehgal. Career wise shes doing great and is highly ambitious. Her ideas of ethics fluctuate often. However, she is not the one to give anyone a lay. But she wouldnt mind arranging for an erotic nightout if that facilitates her career moves. Her only weakness is Riteish (KK Menon), who is unfortunately seen mostly crying on the screen. But not his fault, the script demands it, since he is portrayed a complete loser.
The movie revolves around the bitterness between Marwahs and the Sehgals, who would not mind stooping to any level to get a huge chunk of the profit pie. Politicians are the ones at advantage, since favouring any of these two will only mean a huge bank balance, `great evenings too. The trouble arises when Sehgals outdo the Marwahs and launch a mint-based soft-drink with traces of pesticide in it.
A loyal Nishigandha takes the blame on herself in a bid to save her corporate house and then begins her doom. Shes jailed and finds out shes bearing Riteishs baby. An agitated Riteish only threatens hell blare out the truth to the media if his beloved is not released within 48 hours. And hes found next day lying in a pool of blood, right below his apartment.
Marwahs and Sehgals are friends again.
Great movie, but too good to be true.
Also, it sends out a wrong message - Corporate jobs are not meant for girls, since they are very senti! Ha! Ever faced the wrath of a female boss?
