A piece of real cinema

What can you say abt a movie that takes you out of reel life and every frame in the movie seems like real. That’s the power of director Madhur Bhandkar who take you out of cinema hall to the real world.

It takes lot of research and brain stroming sessions to put together the real life stories into reel life screenplay. Needless to say Madhur is a master when it comes to movies where everyday people are the heros and everyday incidents are the scenes.

Corporate meets every expectation you have from a Madhur bhandarkar movie. Putting together the corporate world work style, issues, cold wars and rivalries in such a way that even a common man can understand and connect with the storyline was a very difficult task. But, the director has made ever attempt to keep every scene simple and straight to the point without bringing in lot of business world complexities.

On the acting front , I won’t say Bipasha fits the role like T, as Tabu did in “Chandni Bar” and Konkana in “Page 3” , but she does pull off her part quite nicely where in she comes across as a strong headed business women in the begining and a soft hearted emotional person towards the end. Actor K.K. being the theater artist does complete justice to the character he played. You cannot imagine anyone else playing the character but him. Rajat Kapoor and Raj Babbar take on to their parts with complete sincerity and so does rest of the cast. I should say rest of the people and not cast , because you don’t feel at any given point they are acting , every person comes across as a character they are playing including Lilite Dubey, who has a small TV Journalist character , but makes her presence felt.

The music of the film is with the storyline and the characters. No song just pops up out of nowhere. And as with “Page 3” Shamit Tandon again manages to rope in soulful composition that connects you to the character.

The movie may not gross crores at the box office, as the subject is not something that would excite the average crowd and also it doesn’t have top class stars lined up, to attract the star cast oriented audience, but the movie has a story to tell that will stay with you after you watch it.   And that to me is real cinema …
