Corporate - The Cor(ru)p(t)World

In todays times, a movie like Corprate is well timed. Although made for a purely urban - multiplex audience, the movie touches topics that are relevant to every Indian citizen. From corrupt and manipulative politicians, to big-wig industrialists using the system - with all its ready to use loop holes- for their own personal advantages, the story rings true mainly because of the rampant corruption we see around us. What is striking and ironical is the simplicity and honesty with which Bhandarkar has porteyd this decaying world of zero ethics.

Competent performances, understated and crisp, keep the tone of the film in control. The gullibilty of the junta, the puppet dance of the media and the strings being pulled by those with money...all are facts and shown startlingly well in the film. The serious tone is not undermined by nonsensical song and dance sequences, even romance is treated maturely.

Although focussed on the darker side of the corporate world, this film hints at the idea that had the more difficult path, the one of few more ethics and a few less competitive nothes been tread, the world - not just the corporate world might have been a better place.
