Country Club Sarjapur - Complete Time Waste

This Saturday I and my husband planned to visit Country Club Sarjapur by using the complimentary entry pass given to us by a friend (who got it as the lucky winner of some draw and after the three of us attended their presentation). They convinced us to buy the Membership but we were well-guarded against their tactics and did not opt for it.

Then since we had the complimentary pass, we thought why not use it than to waste it. I checked out https://mouthshut.com for any reviews on Sarjapur Club, but there was none. Now, we have a complimentary gift voucher from them to visit their Kerala resort, and I have decided that its better to waste than to use it.

Their website gives a rosy picture of this club and I was too excited to go there. I forced my husband who was reluctant to go and then I learnt a good lesson. The facility is still under construction and there is hardly anything to do in the name of entertainment.

We reached the place at around 12 pm and the receptionist said we can play 20 games; I was left wondering where those 20 games are; when asked, all I got was a smile. There are two carom boards, one TT table, one billiard board, and a squash court. The swimming pool is under construction. Though sports are the last things that come to my mind when it comes to time-pass, I decided I would play so that I can kill time till lunch hour. The carom boards were occupied and we never played billiards and squash. And we played TT for sometime and my husband had to literally teach me how to play. There is not even a single magazine available there or even the newspaper.

At last it was time for lunch. The entry pass came with a 20% discount on buffet and food items. We went to the restaurant and opted for the buffet. This was another major disappointment. The spread was a combination of veg and non-veg items; neither of the two was worth any mention. Then my husband ordered an additional non-veg dish, which was again no good it seems.

At the end of it, we spent around Rs.500 (this is after 20% discount), one liter petrol (because we wasted the precious liquid gold for no reason), and four hours of our time (this is another precious resource) and were left with complete disappointment. And not just us, there were a few others who had come to this place as guests on those complimentary pass. There were more unlucky because they did not even get to play TT.

So, my advice to everyone is that even if you have a complimentary pass, don’t ever think of going to this place. Rather spend your time at Forum Mall or Total or Big Bazaar; and even better stay at home than visiting Country Club (particularly Sarjapur one). Now, I understood why these people gave us a complimentary pass to Sarjapur Club and not any other location.

P.S.: I am rating this club with 1-star because there is no option to rate it lesser than that. I strongly feel it is not worth even that single star.
