First of all let me thank MouthShut and all the reviewers here who enabled me to take a decision about the Club membership. Since I was also approached by Country Club people, I decided to search for this company in the net and came across mouth shut reviews and other reviews. Because of so many negative reviews, I decided not to go for the membership. I told this to the marketing person and he told me that I am getting wrongly biased and all the information is only second hand information. He persuaded me to give a benefit of doubt to the CCIL and try it out and see. Anyway I stuck to my decision and refused to be a member. But out of curiosity I started studying about this company and I am putting what I found here. Hope this piece of info might be useful for others.
I was approched by the country vacations marketing people and told that I can avail 1 week free stay in any one of their resorts in BLUE season per year besides other club membership benifits. Anyway they did not offer any land. But I found the following info from one of their documents in their web site which makes it almost impossible to fullfill this promise. They say that they have a total of 295 rooms put together and 2, 00, 000 members. Let us do a small math. All they can provide is 295365 room days = 107675 room days for members assuming that they are allowing members to stay in all seasons. But they should have 2, 00, 0007 = 14, 00, 000 room days to keep the promise of free vacations !! If you discount the peak seasons and accommodation given to non-members this is going to be substantially higher. So Am I missing something ? May be they are not promising free 1 week stay for all the members. Even if they offer this facility to only half of the members , clearly that can not meet it. No wonder why there are so many complaints of not getting accommodation when desired !
Another information I could get is that, as a company, CCIL is surviving with membership fees. 90% of their revenues are from membership fees. This means when their membership enrollment rate slows down they become unprofitable and may even close down the company. Looks like a big problem to me.
Hope the above information would throw some light on why there are a lot of complaints about them and enable people to take necessary action to get thier money back if the promises are not met.
