Country club has become synonymous to scam. Its business model is luring innocent middle class people into buying holiday packages they cant even afford. They are lured into buying such packages by country club salespersons who are liars.
In month of Nov 2018 my husband and I visited one such CCH centre with my 9months old daughter and we were trapped into buying a holiday package at price of Rs 1, 20, 000 initial premium with Rs 10, 000 annual maintenance. This amount was for a service period of 30 yrs. This line was reiterated by the salesperson almost 10 times duringtheir sales presentation. It took them 4 hours to convince us. They would let us leave even though my 9 months old was crying they didnt have mercy. They trapped us inside a claustrophobic office in East Court, beside phoenix mall, Pune. Its is situated in a secluded place and these meetings are conducted on Sundays when the entire floor is vacant in that building. Its really unsafe. Once we paid the entire amount we got a call from call center confirming that we have become CCH members and will be able to avail the service for 5 years. They lied on our face. Made us pay entire amount. We had initially paid half the amount but they gave us option of no cost EMI if we pay entire amount out front. Even after the call center confirmation the sales person kept on lying on our face that the contract is for 30 yrs its by mistake that the call center has told 5 yrs. They gave us a kit which specifically mentioned 5yrs. Rs 120000 with annual maintenance of 10k every year which means approx 200000 for only 5 yrs. The worst scheme ever.
The call centers guys are not respond g to our calls.
We even visited the head office in hyderabad. The head of CCH though was in office washiding in his office bcos he didnt have guts to meet people whom he is causing so much suffering and sitting on pile of hard earned money of innocent people.
My sincere suggestion is if you want to go on a holiday plan for yourself. These days we have so much options for hotel, home stays and travel packages. Dnt ever subscribe to COUNTRY CLUB.
I WISH THEM WORST.
Last week I went for a movie wherein in mall a lady asked me to fill a voucher for a salon opening. I gave my phone number and name. She called me after 3 days to come and collect a 5 gifts. I told I cannot come on a weekday. Also I told I know there wouldnt be any gift and that you would be wasting my time. She assured me that there will b no such thing and I just need to collect 5 gifts. I ignored it. On Friday she again called me and lured me. And I finally agreed to collect the gift. I went with my husband and 6 months old daughter. When I went to the mall I was directed to the office of country club which is in an isolated place away from the normal mall crowd. We were told that we will have to attend a one hour presentation wherein they will explain us about the gift and then we can take our gifts and go away. Inspite of knowing that THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH IN THIS WORLD, we went inside the conference room to attend the presentation. There were no ppts or slide show. There were individual sales people sitting with few invitated family members and trying to sell HOLIDAY PACKAGE.
One sales woman was assigned to us as well. She started of by taking a small survey, we mentioned we are not travel freak still she started luring us by telling about a 30 year membership of country club. Whenever we would ask her a genuine question she would call her senior for answer. We should have understood that they do not have a set membership plan but we were glued. they would let us leave.my 6 months daughter started getting restless but they still kept us waiting, kept of explaining their 30year scheme. We did our calculations and found the scheme to be worthwhile and paid 1, 25000 upfront. Later when they gave us the holiday membership card we got the shock of our life. All our calculations were useless. The membership voucher stated that its only valid for 5 years. We were deceived. How can they lie to us and sell. We immediately asked them why is the validity for only 5 years. They had no answer and so they tried to fool us by telling after 5 years you can renew again by paying the amount prevalent at that point in time.
We had already paid the amount, we tried to negotiate with them but they didnt pay heed to our words. My daughter was crying but they didnt bother, they were busy in fooling other innocent families.
The entire episode took us 5 hours. We were so restless that we did not have energy to negotiate with them.
Can someone please suggest a way forward, I need to cancel my membership and get my money back?
