I am resident of Gurgaon. Recently I got a call from Country Vacations from a lady named Bubbly, that I won two gifts 25, 000 Rs worth vacation in India (Only stay) and Kitchen Cutlery.
And for receiving the same I need to visit their office only as a couple.I finally agreed and visited their office accompanied by my wife.
They said that before receiving our gifts they will be taking an hour time and explain about what we won and what other packages they offer. They took 30 min to understand our background by asking some personal and some general questions.Explained that the holiday package is a 6 nights package, valid only stay and we need to choose out of 4 locations (Goa, Srilanka, Bali etc).
And then the real picture began, they started explaining a 10 year vacation Domestic/International package(only stay) offered by Country Vacations (division of Country Club) at price of 1, 70, 000 Rs and 1, 800 SQFT land free. And also Country Club Lifetime membership worth 1, 25, 000 Rs is completely free.
They told that only 10 year vacation are allowed under the current offer. I tried to get more details of other expenses involved. And then they added that I need to pay approx 4200 Rs as annual maintenance charges. They explained that have 4, 000 different locations worldwide. Again inquired about more details of expenses for International vacations.
These guys have some collaboration with an International VacationsCompany RCI. And I need to pay 8, 000 Rs extra if I want to visit a RCI run International Hotel/Resort. Costs were adding up and adding up. They brainwashed my wife first. Later on they brainwashed me too. But just before getting the membership final, I called my father. He scolded me for visiting Country Vacations. His friedns are already suffering from CV. Advised to keep away from these cheaters.
1. The land what they are offering is near about 148 KMs from Bangalore International Airport which inturn is 40KMs from heart of the city.
2. The offered land comes under A.P State in warangal District. And worth not even 10, 000 Rs.
3. One can’t never build a home there. Any thing you build it will belong to Contry Vacations.
4. One can’t sell it and can’t even register.
5. The resorts are always on outskirts and hard to reach places.
6. Very bad condition and rude staff.
7. Getting a booking is very hard as the booking center will always apologize for non-availability.
8. Good locations are never available because they give preference to non-members.
9. Some of his friends tried for booking a International vacation for one whole year, but never got the booking done.
I started backing out, then the representative offered that if I pay 35, 000 Rs upfront and after a month I can pay the rest amount in EMIs offered by banks for 12, 24, 26 months duration. And also assured that no processing fee or interest is levied.
I apologized and started waliking-out, the representative said that at the last he can give the whole package for 1, 55, 000 Rs from 1, 70, 000 Rs. If not interested in 10 year vacation plan, he can give me a 5 year vacation membership for 85, 000 Rs. I rejected it again.
Finally gave a feedback form and asked me to fill it. I filled it and they presented me with the 25, 000 Rs worth vacation package and said that to use it I need to pay 3, 000 Rs admin fees and I must inform 45 days ahead. And presented a shiny big rectangular box as second gift (a pudding set worth max 200 Rs)
2 & 1/2 hours of total waste of time.
A request to every young professionals, you must not be hesitant to take advice from elders. And also verify the details on the internet well before you invest or spend big money. I didn’t check the reviews of CV before attending the presentation. Mouth-shut and other forums are really helping.Spread the good word among friends and even foes. Stay clear from such organization Country Vacations and Country Club.
