If you are a female and if you have sex appeal, brains and attitude you stand for a chance to be a bargirl at ’’COYOTE UGLY’’ bar in Newyork. From the direction of David McNally, ’’Coyote Ugly’’ is a story featuring 21 year old sexy star Piper Perabo known as Violet Stanford in the movie.
Violet has dreams of becoming a song writer for which she moves to NewYork. Her father Bill(John Goodman) who is a cop allows her daughter Violet to go to Newyork thinking she would make it big. Living in a filthy apartment in Newyork Violet is struggling to make her living. Incidentally she comes across Kevin O’Donnell (Adam Garcia) with whom she falls in love with.
Struggling to make her living she manages to get a job as a bar girl in a Bar known as ’’Coyote Ugly’’, where she is tried out by her boss Lil (Maria Bello), whether she is capable as a bar girl or not. Violet’s other bar mates- Cammie, Rachel and Zoe are shown as young sexy ladies who in the entire movie are seen dancing to the tunes of music and entertaining bar customers with less clothes on, to display their feminine figures.
Violet too gets used to these stuff of her colleagues and gets involved in it forgetting that she was here to fulfill her dream as a Song Writer. Her Boyfriend tries to sort things out for her, but Violet always having stage fright finds herself unable to sing on the stage. The scenario changes when her father comes to know about his daughter dancing in a Bar and feels ashamed of her daughter. Bill then tells her daughter about her mother, who died away without fulfilling her dreams and that she should not repeat the same thing.
Now like a typical hindi movie end, the hero Kevin O’Donnell arranges for a show for Violet to prove her talents and fulfill her dreams. And finally Violet sings in front of her father at Open-Mike night and fulfills her dream.
So shouldn`t it have been more sensible to name the movie ’’Dreams come true’’. The entire movie is a boring drama and if it had`nt been for good musical sound tracks the audience would have run away from their seats from half. Only if the Censor Board had been a little more friendly it could have atleast attracted male crowd. Rest is all ugly, ugly and the name itself is ’’Coyote UGLY’’.
