Greatest ODI batsmen

Just went thru an article published in espnstar.com abput the ten greatest batsmen of ODI cricket, I was stunned to find that the name of Sanath Jayasuriya missing.

He has been one of the most consistent and prolific ODI batsman of all times and has a tremendous record, but the author has gone just with numbers for initially Jayasuriya spent his time batting at the lower order and it was from the 96 world cup he has been oening and from then on his record is fantastic, its just a request from me that when people start rating sportspersons they should have a wide view of things and publish.

Its just not that the number alone matters, the circumstances, the country which the person represents, the weightage the batsman carries in international stages should also be taken into consideration. The author has also given a rationale behind his rating but that does not seem to impress for its very theoritical and does not include the practical aspects as to the importance of the innings. Well I at the same time commend the author for being an Indian its great to find our Sachin at the top and Dada also part of the big ten.I hope all of u will agree with me on this, looking forward for your comments.
