The Cup of sorry tales

This world cup is one of the most mismanaged cup I have ever seen. No control whatsoever on the playing nation. Countries like New Zealand, England went scot-free for not playing their matches citing security reasons. It is amazing to note that the sports is now played with politics. The reason for not playing these matches or not the real ones but they stuck to it to score political points.

The boycott of these team and the rain rule management has brought the tournament to a lacklustre event. If West Indies, Pakistan and South Africa had a rain day Zimbabwe and Kenya would not be in the Super Sixes. Which would have created more interest. Look to whom India is going to play in the Semi-final -- Kenya !!! Not even in the dream Sourav would have imagined playing Kenya in the Semis. Australia will either play against Sri Lanka or New Zealand. To say frankly Australia is punished for playing wonderfully and India is given jackpot by losing to Australia in the opening round.

Fixing has very little chance to this world cup as the money ICC receives is huge and if it fails to generate the required interest it would fail to sustain its growth.

To say frankly ICC needs to learn administration and I hope they will follow a better system and punish team for saying that they will not play.
