Review : Cricket being a team game it is very difficult to select individuals who could be classified as best. I have tried to select 6 best amongst the indian cricketers. It is possible that there are more deserving players but I hope that these 6 may come nearest to get universal acceptance.
M.A.K Pataudi : A gentleman to the core he was the youngest when he became captain of Indian team. He extracted best from the team and never differentiated amongst his players. He may not have scored many but whatever he has scored each one is a Gem.
G.R.Viswanath: The man every one should try to emulate. His respect to other players and his artistic batting touched every ones hearts. His recalling of the English batsmen to the crease after knowing that he was not out stands out for his fair game. He is the Best artist with the cricket bat.
Kapil dev: The Haryana hurricane, He deserves to be amongst the best as the man who led India to their only World Cup victory. He is the only one genuine allrounder Indian has ever produced. he is the best in behaviour and best in pressure.
Mohinder Amarnath: The great fighter he is, he deserves to be amongst the best for the sheer fighting qualities he has shown during his innumerable come backs. he is one player who suffered most because of the selectors vagaries. A perfect player for all circumstances.
B.S.Chandrashekar: Great exponent of Spin He mesmerised all because of his ability to click in all conditions. He also suffered due to the vagaries of selectors. His exponents at the Oval is the most cherished one.
Rahul Dravid: From the present lot he has the ability to adapt to all conditions and perform when the chips are down. Never plays for himself, always shares credit with others. The Team ahs succeeded many times because of his consistency. Best behaved on and off the field. A Model for all yougsters.
