I request you all to read my recent review on Virendra Sehwag, to understand my inner-most feelings about him.
What can u expect your prime bowlers to do when you enter with a weak total on the board ? Irfan, Agarkar did excellent job by both taking wickets and prevent more runs to them.
Ganguly & Virendra Sehwag, are the only culprits who should be blamed for the loss of this match. Ganguly’s captaincy finishes the moment the toss is done and he is over confident about his players. We dont need Sehwag and Ganguly to bowl at a team like Pakistan.
As usual, Dravid should have come after Ganguly departed cheaply to hold one- end. Agarkar supported Dravid to the best of his abilities but as we all know he has been sacrificed often to bring in new players, he should be there to fulfill the need of an all-rounder in the eleven.
It was written on the wall that Ganguly did not have any plans before entering into this match. Dinesh Mongia, Hemang Badani & Rohan Gavaskar should be a clear option to replace Virendra Sehwag, VVS Laxman & Yuvraj Singh then only there will be a tough competition between these players for playing in the top eleven against different teams. (Rohan Gavaskar was a replacement for Sachin in this match)
I really fail to understand as why Kartik was included for this tour. We dont need a specialist keeper in the one-dayers.
I believe the selectors should give threat to some of our top-eleven players by using other options to get the best out of all the players.
Remember the Aussies are waiting for the battle on our home soil !
