As a kid I grew up watching The Jungle Book, Tarzan and other cartoons in which the relationship between man and animal were very beautifuly depicted.I was amazed by the likes of Mowgli who could communicate with animals. What fancied me most was that these characters exercised both their control and their unconditional love on these beings, not once taking undue advantage of their superiority over animals.

As I grew up I realised that Trazan, Mowgli and their likes were mere fictitious characters. In the real world man could never really establish an unconditional relationship with animals.A relationship between man and animal has always been that of a Ringmaster and a Lion, Hunter and prey, a Master and his Dog.Man has often exploited animals for his own pleasures.

In a world where Man has always ill treated animals , there lives a man called Steve Irwin who would go to any extent to save these animals from their biggest enemy - Man.Steve never thinks twice before risking his life in effort to save animals. While dealing with animals who are as aggressive and as strong as a crocodile Steve prefers not to use any kind of tranquilizer because a tranquilizer can sometimes kill the Crocodile, disregarding the fact that these reptiles when fully awake can knock him down.Thats Steve’s love for his animals totally unconditional.

Steve and his wife Terry who operate the Australian zoo host the Crocodile Hunter this pair travels all across the world in their quest to save animals.Crocodile hunter is a programme which is both educative and entertaining. In one episode you get to see this husband and wife wrestling the crocs while in other you watch them dodge the snakes and only when you thought that these guys care only for the the most aggressive and venomous creatures on earth they throw you a surprise episode where you see them cuddling the Koala bears.

Steve has the most infectious personality your fingers refuse to press the channel change button while he is on air, its a pleasure to watch his wife Terry brave the wild animals.Well she does prove a point to those who think that an adventure for a girl means a trip to the beauty palour.Well this pair does exercise with all its heart and soul the message ’’share ur planet’’ which is often aired on Animal Planet.

Well, Steve Irwin is certainly a better version of all the Mowglis and Tarzans put together and the best part is that he is not a fictitious character....hats off to him.I sure do think that the programme ’’Crocodile Hunter’’ must be renamed as the ’’Crocodile Saviour’’
