Crossroads in Love by Melt-NJ was a major disappointment. I went in expecting an emotional and powerful romance, but instead found myself slogging through a disjointed mess of clichés and underdeveloped characters. The plot feels recycled from a hundred other love stories, but without any of the charm or originality that makes a romance novel stand out.
The main characters are painfully one-dimensional, making it impossible to feel any real investment in their journey. Their relationship progresses with no real buildup — it’s rushed, unrealistic, and devoid of genuine chemistry. The dialogue is stilted and unnatural, often pulling me out of whatever little immersion I had left.
To make matters worse, the pacing is terrible. Entire chapters drag on describing irrelevant scenes, while major emotional moments are glossed over in a few sentences. By the end, I felt more frustrated than fulfilled.
Overall, Crossroads in Love reads like a rough draft rather than a polished novel. Unless you enjoy poorly executed romance tropes and flat storytelling, I’d recommend skipping this one.
