Rocksteady!

Hello!

I have D-Link internal modem with Conexant chipset (56kbps) since a year now...

I’m very satisfied with it...no driver problems ever....

And the biggest surprise I got was when I noticed that the driver cd which came with it had drivers for RedHat Linux!! (both rpm package and source tarball!) Hadn’t seen drivers for linux ever before on a commercial cd for a modem...or for that matter any other hardware..you either have to download these drivers from manufacturer’s website or something else like linuxant.org

I was worried about not being able to find linux drivers for this modem...but this cd surprised me!!

and conexant website has drivers for other popular distributions of linux as well!!!

so all in all..this modem is not only rocksteady in performance, the customer support is great too!

a closing note...slow internet connections are usually due to bad phone line or heavy load on the ISP server, and not because of some fault in modems...

unless ofcourse you break some capacitor on the modem! ;-)

What else to write on a good modem??

Have fun online!
