Although D-Mart gives discounts on its products and has a good variety of them, recently i.e., from July 2011, they have started charging on plastic bags from consumers. The charges are Re. 1, 2 and 3 for small, medium and large bags respectively. This is applicable for Mumbai stores.
There is no need to enquire as there is an automated message being played in the store and notice has also been put up. This notice is in accordance of our great CONGRESS GOVT. who has now started making more money out of people. Already food is out of reach coz of the foolish ministers. They get everything at subsidized rates but we common people are suffering.
This notification has been initially implemented for Mumbai city and after some time will be applied to whole of India. They say its for curbing the use of plastic bags.
WHY DONT THEY BAN the road side, thin plastic bags which are creating problems. The stores can limit the amount of plastic bags.
But Alas our great MAN MAHAAN SINGH PAPA AND SONIA THE GREAT are not bothered. They just conduct meetings and roam around in A.C CARS.
Barring these new charges D-Mart is the best for shopping for household items.
