Bizzrae Retun Policy of D Mart

Yesterday ie on 10th June, 2010 evening we ( our family) purchased two T Shirts ( size XL) at D Mart Seawoods, however after reaching home I realized that it would be undersized and I need a larger one( though I use to wear XL size of reputed brands). So I decided to exchange those T shirts. My daughter went to the shop at 1100 hrs along with the original bill for exchanging the same. D Mart denied for exchange. They told that items can be returned and not exchanged ( sounds bizarre). They can refund the money but they cannot exchange the items with another one . And while refunding they would deduct 2% of the bill amount as purchase was made through a credit card. Talking to Shop manager also did not help. I have been shopping at D mart Seawoods for last 3 yrs and D Mart Nerul for last 6-7 yrs and I have exchanged the things , even garments also ( of course not undergarments) many a times. Now why this sudden change in policy?


Even if one goes through your return policy, part of your policy says "Due to hygiene reasons we do not exchange Cosmetics, Shaving aids, Undergarments, Perfumes, Deodorants, Hair Accessories and Seasonal items” Now my point is that if you don’t exchange the items why you have used the word EXCHANGE in the above statement. Another thing if you can return the items, customer can take the refund and further shop similar items in your store only, then what is the point in not exchanging? Moreover, if items are purchased through credit card, why are deducting 2% on return.


You should rather have such arrangement with card provider that amt should be automatically credited back to the card account in case of refund in stead of giving cash back.
