AVOI-D

Its difficult not to compare D with Satya and Company and in doing so, the third underworld flick from the RGV stable falls flat on its face. Ok, lets be fair and look at the movie in isolation. Yet, what comes across glaringly is that there is absolutely no plot in the film. Its almost as if D = Documentary and seems like its been funded by the very Mr.D.

The movie opens with Deshu seeing a man getting pushed out of a local train, wonder what impact it has on his life and the film. He gets into an easy entry into Hashim’s gang and rises ever so smoothly up the ranks. There is no dwelling on how the camaradrie between Raghav and Deshu is built up. The chemistry between Deshu and the filmi chic is also missing. The film has its stock of bhai talk and senseless bout of killings.

Of the cast I would give hooda 6 out of 10. He looks to model like to be a bhai, lacks to grass root look of Chakravarthy in Satya. His performance isn’t bad. Chunkey Pandey plays out a role which does not need any skill and also saved him the trouble of shaving throughout the shooting schedule, Goga kapoor as the bhai with the back ache does a decent job ( Even in Company the old don had a Back Ache problem.. seems to be some kinda superstition for RGV), Isha Koppikar looks good but unfortunately has no role , Rukhsar = piece of wood, the biggest dissapoitment is that talented actors like Sushant Singh and Yashpal Yadav have been given a raw deal by getting them to act out like buffons.

The music and background score... is non existent. The camera work is jerky and almost gave me a headache.. especially the first scene with the camera pans 360 degrees.

I sum up the review in one word : AVOI-D
