I bought this digital set top box for Rs 1690 in Bangalore just a week back. Now i’m one of the happy subscribers of Videocon d2h since this has turned out to be a fairly good deal for me.
Would like to share some of the pros and cons of this product straight from my heart:
Pros:
Quick Installation: the installation was done within one day of placing the order. It was done in a professional way.
Good signal strength: I don’t know how it fluctuates when it rains heavily.
Channel package : I’m a subscriber of south diamond pack and i’m really happy with the no. of channels offered for Rs 265 per month. I believe no other dth service provider offers this many channels at this cost. Especially the no. of sports channels offered is really good.
Universal remote: so no need to swap remotes for basic functions like changing volume level...
Picture quality : Is really good, it’s truly mpeg4 transmission.
Sound quality: Not too great nor too bad.
After Sales service : Customer service is really good, calls are attended without much delay and the representatives are polite too.
Cons:
Active services: There are a few channels that get transmitted only through active services and these channels come up only 3/4th of the screen , which I didn’t like. This needs to be telecasted just like any other channel in a full screen mode.
Transmission delay: there is a slight transmission delay of 3secs when compared to the transmission of the cable tv.
Conclusion: I would suggest this product since it’s pros over weighs the cons’. I feel that that Videocon’s d2h product has just got better when compared to what it was 6 month’s back.
