A book that talks about values and executing them.

I had always been  fascinated by t hiso ganization called ’Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Trust’ better known as the dabawallas from the time I first read about the organization in a local newspaper. I had seen a documentary that was aired on the BBC which I vaguely remember. There is more than one aspect to this organization that makes it so famous and sought after company (organization) and the prime being that it’s Six Sigma certified.

The book captures the working model of the organization and would help us understand the core value that the organization believes. The author focuses on the sustainability of the organization which has not only stood strong but also transformed itself through time without compromising on the core goal of serving their customer by providing the best at least price without compromising on the quality. There are instances that you can identify yourself with your  organization and realize that their goal is not different from the goal of our organization (infact any organization). Lets face it, how many of us haven’t heard following values in our board meeting and weekly meet’s

’The core goal of our company is to serve the customer’. ’Treat your customer the way you liked to be treated’

and the classic ’Customer is god’ the book reveals that the dabawalla not only fulfill the above three values but, have kept doing it flawlessly for decades without using the aid of modern technology and only relying on their strong principles to serve their customer. I can think of the dabawallas as an organization where the values were born around the work they did and not vice versa .They created their  own values.

I recommend this book to every individual from all walks of life and work hierarchy be it a software engineer, marketing agent or a CEO there something in store for everybody.

I hope you enjoy reading this book.I recommend this book and hope you reap the same or more knowledge than I did reading this book.

Regards,

Ajay J
