Guys, my original review is given below - I had written this in Apr/ May 2004. The reason for the update is that recently I got 2 things done:
Rubbing with teflon polish - the car looks almost new - you can see yourself in it and avoid using a mirror!!! Good paint work done by Daewoo! In case you don;t want this treatment, I would advise VALVOLINE or AMWAY polish (am not using turtle wax anymore). I like Amway the best since it imparts a rich deep black and shiny finish to my car (colour: black)
(DO THIS ONLY IF YOU UNDERSTAND WELL) - Daewoo ECM was programmed originally for 91 Octane (e.g speed) petrol. Since India had a cheap quality fuel earlier, this setting was over-ridden to 87 octane setting with the help of a ’’jumper’’. This jumper is placed next to the ECM (ECM is placed in a box below the hook that opens the front bonnet of car). The same jumper is a white plastic thing with ’’87’’ written repeatedly (87=87 octane).
After I did this, the performance of my car increased, its giving an extra km to the litre and the engine sound has changed a bit too (since the ECM programming has changed). The car is working perfectly and is now giving 15 on highway (with speeds not more than 95kmph and without AC, with AC its 13.9) I MEAN IT GUYS, this is no joke, this works. Also, if you know a reliable person, you can re-program ECM to give more power without compromising the average. I heard someone does it in Gurgaon (next to New Delhi). Its over 8 years now and my car is shining like almost new and average in city (Dirty Noida traffic) is 10 without ac (highway ave. given above).

I have a cielo (1997 model) and as of April 2004 its done only 50, 000 Km. Till date, its hardly needed a spare part. Maintainance free, smooth, spacious, grand looks, EXCELLENT AC...simply a wonderful car.....efficiency...12 kmpl on Chandigarh roads (14 on highway) with ac on and speed petrol. Literally a highly safe (FORTRESS!!!) on the road! Boot space is huge!!!! 530 litres....literally a folding bed can be put inside the trunk with other articles over it...still you can find space for small little things!!! The music system is less powerful though, but if 200-400 watts oval speakers are put, they are sufficient since the boot acts like a hollow box such that the music can resound and bass comes out to be excellent!
I would further recommend Eagle one polish from Valvoline or Turtle wax polish be used on the car. For best results, a teflon coat can be done once.
