Thank God TOI Monopoly is no more.
I hate to think of those days when TOI used to goad its readers with all kind of rubbish news because they thought they are the trend setters in the country. I shudder on seeing TOI proclaiming themselves to be the National Daily.
I expect a NationalDaily -
To project Indian values, Indian culture but always urging to move ahead with the times. TOI many a times equate MODERN to WESTERN. Yesterday I saw an article in TOI , with a photo of a lady smoking. And caption Modern Ladies ...blah blah
TOI never had the brains to analyse things. It will print whatever it sees. It will print all flesh without taking into account the effect it can have in society.
Even if a man had the urge to have sex at the middle of the road he won’t do it. He is aware of the aftereffects. TOI doesn’t have common sense.
TOI is confusing women on being modern. I respect a well behaved women, her intelligence what ever be her profession. I would call her a slut if she tries to win by showing skin. Human beings are mindful creatures and not mindless animals who run behind pheromones. TOI wants us to be the latter so that Western products sell in India.
Who other than TOI will print a SEXPERT advice everyday, even after having so much readership. Who on earth other than TOI will find Tennis and swimming stars in sleasy poses only.
TOI bashing is never to stop. Unless it change itself.
Expectations from DNA - Can I ask my 8 year old to read DNA everday.
Though I expected HT to comeup a good rival to TOI. It also went into the same track of making issues out of non issues from the first print itself. Salman Tape case. With first few issues I read HT nomore. But still HT is good.
DNA is colourful. good news coverage.good photos and all news that TOI has. DNA I think is more a winner now. I hope it will rise. But I am worried DNA is also trying to sell soft porn. Today’s frontpage bottom news was on Penis size. When there are health and adult magazines to handle these issues why DNA?
