I got married in the month of april. In mumbai april is pretty hot and humid, so we have decided to goto place which is coooool. We were planning to go to Mount Abu or Munnar, but on of my friend suggested dalhousie. He said is a must go place for honeymoon couple (and it is a must go place for honeymoon couple).
So we decided to go to Dalhousie, Khajjiar and Dharamshala.
We have booked our hotels from mumbai, thanks to Anant Paryatan, Dadar(West). Actually my all bookings were done by Anant Paryatan (railway, taxi and hotels).
From mumbai to dalhousie (chakki bank, railway station on main line) we travelled by train, which took around 1 and half day to reach to chakki bank station. From chakki bank dalhousie is 80 kms away, we travelled till dalhousie by taxi which took 3 1/2 hours.
As we reached dalhousie, it was evening and atmosphere was pretty good and chilled. We checked in into our hotel (Mount View). Mount View is one of the best hotel from dalhousie(room service is little slow), it is located on one of the best location of dalhousie also it has a nice view.
Dalhousie is walkers paradise. Walk on Thandi Sadak is a very special (road from bus stand to gandhi chowk).
We relaxed two days in dalhousie and went to khajjiar. Distance between dalhousie and khajjiar is just 23 kms but since roads are pahadi it takes 2 hours to reach khajjiar. We hired a private car from hotel, which we kept with ourself for entire journey.
In khajjiar our booking was in Hotel Mini Swiss. This is the best hotels in khajjiar. This hotel has a excellent view from rooms. In khajjiar the only place to see is Khajjiar Ground, when we went on the ground it was very pleasent, had a good coffee and walked on ground.
Near the ground there is a hotel which is managed by Himachal Tourism, I enquired and found that is hotel is not expensive and it has a nice view of khajjiar ground.
Staying at khajjiar is extraordinary, it has everything which is must in honeymoon, a atomspher, privacy and a good hotel.
After staying in khajjiar for two days we went to Dharamshala. From khajjiar to dharamshala it took us 6 hours, this journey is also very pleasent.
Our booking was in Asia health resort is one of the good hotel in dharamshala, it has a good hospitality services, the only problem with this hotel is it is away from city (around 2 kms). Our taxi driver suggested that, their are lots of hotels in dharamshala so when you will come here next time you dont need to book the hotel from mumbai.
In dharamshala we saw Dal lake, Naddi and Temple of Dalai Lama. Dharamshala is famous for tibetian goods, so it is heaven for shoppers.
Dharamshala is not a good choice for honeymoon couples because it is very crowed.
We spent 2 days in dharamshala and then went back to dalhousie.
After coming back to dalhousie we saw subhash bauli, panjapula and kala top(wildlife sanctuary). Kala top is a very good place for honeymoon couple it is away from dalhousie and it has all the necessary things like food and hotel. Kala top has a hotel which is maintained by himachal tourism, but we need to book this hotel in advance.
It was a very nice experience for both of us to be in himachal for a special occation called HONEYMOON.
