Story of movie is based on true story of Amateur wrestler Mahavir singh Phogat, who forced to give up wrestling in order get gainful employment that is why he was unable to win Gold medal for India and wish that his son will. But who knows what will be happen in future, his wife gives birth to four daughters, So he give up his dream to win gold medal, thinking that girls cannot wrestle and should only be taught household chores .But his older daughter Geeta, Babita, come home after beating up two boys, then mahavir relies that his daughters can win Gold medal for India in wrestling. He became happy . After that day mahavir singh starts their coaching of wrestling. Lots of troubles both the girls faced during training period, Mahavir singh was very strict or real coach. He did work hard to prepare them for wrestling. initially, the girls resent their father for his treatment but they soon realize that their father wants them to have a future and not grow up to be stereotypical housewives. the girls became motivated and willing participate in Mhavir’s coching. mahavir takes the girls to wrestling tournaments .Both wrestle with boys and beat them . Geeta eventually wins the junior international and goes to an institute in patiala for further taring.
After joining institute, she watches TV till late night, eats street food and grows her hair longer which her father do not like. she give up Mahvir’s technique . On visit home, she shows her father that she learns more new best technique which are better than his technique. Babita advises to her elder sister that she shouldn’t not forget her father’s technique and remind her that it is because of his father that she is where she is now .
Geeta finds herself in some trouble because she loosing every match as she is not following her father’s method . she realize her mistake and apologize . Her coach is furious with Mahavir’s interference and wants to expel them both from the institution, but management allow them to continue and tell to Mahavir that he don’t interfere.
Mhavir singh gets old recording of previous matches which Geeta was unsuccessful and try to find out mistake made by Geeta in that matches. He again coaches her over mobile phone.
During the commonwealth games, Mahavir give instructions to Geeta which were opposite of her coach. Geeta also follow her father instruction and ignore coach’s instructions .this time she win all matches. Coach feel jealousy and before final match he lock Mahavir in closet far away from the arena. Despite her father’s absence, Geeta manage to win Final bout and became the first Indian female wrestler to win Gold medal. Babita also won Gold in wrestling in 2014.

Cinematography is by sethu sriram . choreographing is fantastic that it is difficult to believe the actors in movie are not real wrestlers.
In Dungal, Amir Khan once again proved that he is the best. His performance can’t express with words only. every one must watch this movie. I like it very much
