Darrang College.Darrang College is one of the oldest colleges of Assam. Established way back in 1945, it is one of the best colleges in Assam, where during the admissions, the cut-offs touch sky.Darrang College is situated in a town named Tezpur ( Sonitpur District, then Darrang District, as the name reads) . It allows courses in all the streams, science, arts and commerce. The courses offered are BSc, MSc( in few subjects) , BA, MA( in few subjects) , BCom along with the 2years course of HSSLC( 11th, 12th) under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, AHSEC.Generally, Darrang College is underthe affiliation of Gauhati University. During the first three years after its establishment, it was under the affiliation of Calcutta University and later came under Gauhati University.Extending to a large Campus, the college just attracts every students towards it. It has the longest balcony ( corridor) among all colleges in India. The natural surrounding makes it much lively.During the time of admissions, students from different parts of the state desire for a seat in this college. As a result the cut-off increases per year. The most liable and deserving ones get admitted.Here, the students find some lavishing shot, be it in the classes or outside. The college changes lives of many, along with offering some love. Precisely, the single ones ( some) get their desire fulfilled.The College Field, the large playground turns out to be a kinda picnic spot during the winters.The classes, the professors brings in interest to the course. Besides, the ’outside the class’ or should I say the darrang park is what the students preferably pay heed to.Pros and cons, it spares nowhere, none. Despite of it, Darrang College become a LOVE for the Student.As an ex-student of the College, that’s my point of view.Thank you.
