Datia is smallest district of MP situated at 75Km from Gwalior(MP) and 30Km from Jhansi(UP).


Datia is famous for its temples and is also called mini Vrindavan. The most famous temple is Maa Peethambra temple. Lot of people visit the temple throught the year and is heavily crowded during Nav Ratri.An ancient town found its mention as


Daityavakra in the epic, Datia is the district headquarters of the Datia district. Magnificient holy shrines like the Siddhapeeth of Shri Peetambra Devi, Buglamukhi Devi Temple and Gopeshwar Temple make Datia a hot spot of devotees and busy pilgrim center. Sonagiri, a sacred Jain hill also grabs large gathering.


Jahangir Mahal, the 400-room palace, in Datia is renowned as the ‘one of the most interesting buildings in the whole of India’. Built in the year 1620, this fabulous palace is situated on a sandstone hill. This seven storied wonder is having 130 ft height, two of which are in underground. Other structures in and around Datia include a fort, a palace and a state museum.
