Best Romantic Comedy, But Poor Ending!

I have always been a fan of romantic comedies and have seen almost all of them once they were released. These movies are very lighthearted, humorous, and ultimately uplifting, focusing on the pursuit of love, typically following a predictable yet satisfying formula. These movies masterfully balance genuine emotional moments with comedy, which ranges from physical mishaps to sharp, witty dialogue. I recently watched another great romantic comedy, De De Pyar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn. We all know how good an actor he is. I have seen almost all his movies because Im a huge fan. His acting is great and still the same, even more polished than all his previous films. I really liked his acting in this movie as well.

De De Pyaar De 2 revolves around a 52-year-old NRI investor, Ashish(Ajay Devgn), who tries to get the approval of his much younger girlfriend, Ayeshas(Rakul Preet Singh) family. The story took an interesting turn when Ayeshas father, Rakesh(R Madhavan), met Ashish, and they discovered they were nearly the same age, which led to awkwardness and a battle of egos. The situation got worse when Ayeshas parents introduced another man(Meezan Jafri) to Ayesha to break their relationship. But in the end, the family conflict gets resolved. Manju(Ashishs wife) put her past behind her and decided to divorce Ashish and Ayesha, and Ashish, now a couple, moved to London to get married and start a new chapter in their life together.

De De Pyar De 2 is no doubt a Great Star Ajay Devgn starrer movie, so definitely his acting is great as usual. He has acted really well, especially showing the love expressions for the girl who is half his age. But apart from him, I really mention the power-packed performance of R Madhavan in the movie, who has done a phenomenal act as Ayeshas father, offering a relatable portrayal of a father in such a situation. Rakul Preet has also shown a superb performance, showcasing her acting mettle. Apart from them, the other supportive cast, such as Gautami Kapoor and Javed Jafri, have done a remarkable performance in the movie. Also, I cant forget to write about the great comic timing and charisma of Meezan Jafri, who brought the movie to life.

The movie is 2 hours and 30 minutes long, so you never get bored while watching. It features bright and vibrant visuals and captures the contrasting setting from the lush green fields of Punjab to urban London, which helps highlight the difference between the characters world and backdrops. The first half is well-paced with quick-witted scenes, but the second half drags in certain sequences. The background music was average but sometimes extraordinary. Some songs are great and melodious like 3 Shaukk, but some of them were so slow that they slowed down the film’s momentum, I felt. Other than that, everything I thought about the movie was good.

Overall, the movie has successfully reached its ultimate destination: a powerful romantic comedy, and concluded with a sense of optimism and hope for the future as Ashish and Ayesha embrace their new life together. The family conflict shown in the movie was quite relatable and revealed the true face of families in India when they learn about their childrens love interests, especially when it is unmatched, as in Ashish and Ayesha. I liked the cast’s acting and the movie’s story both, but the ending I didnt like much, as I feel it could be better with the end of Ashish and Ayeshas relationship to give a meaningful message to the younger generation of society. But the movie is great, worth watching!
