Diabetes has become a very common these days which is a very dangerous sign. Even young people are getting affected by this.
I would like to put it in sections:
Types of Diabetes:
Type 2:(Very Common)
Rise in sugar level even though the body is producing insulin, which body cells normally use to convert blood glucose into energy
Type 1:
Is caused by the lack of insulin production by the pancreas(located just behind the stomach).
Exercise:
A regular exercise is what you need to follow in order to keep it in control.
A walk of around 30-45mins 4-5 times a week is good. You must obviously consult you doctor if you need any specific work-out, since it is also depending you the body condition.
Diet:
It is very important to follow a diet prescribed to you by your Doctor. Make sure that you always stick to it. Never get tempted when you see some delicious and sweet food. Remind yourself that you can get over this temptation. If you cannot recall your sugar level, what problems you had to face, the critical stages in diabetes.and then you will automatically control the temptation.
*Check the Sugar Level:
*These days "Accu-Check" is available at a low price(Rs.1790/-). This contains the meter+ a box of 10 strips. You can get a box of 30 strips at a cost of Rs. 300/-
This is a very handy device to check your sugar level at home without need to go to any lab and you will get the results in 5 secs.
You should check the sugar as following:
Fasting: You can check the sugar level in morning(dont eat anything after previous days dinner). The value should be ideally < 120
Post Meal: Check the level 2 hrs after having the meal. This value should be ideally < 140
In case you results are greater than these values, consult the doctor.
Be Positive:
The BEST RULE is to be positive. Dont think that you have diabetes means the world has ended. Have a positive attitude. Follow regular exercise, diet, checks etc.
Control it.Dont let it take the Control:)
All the best.
