What would you do?

Sex determination is now made possible within the 6 week period, ie., at the ovum stage itself. Does it make sense for the government to now rethink on abortion? Abortion at the 6-7 week is not infanticide, it can hardly be called abortion in the first place. (it takes 25 days -30 days for a menstrual cycle itself.) It would be an extension and probably be easier for women to go through it.

We are talking about whether abortion should be legal or not. India, China and most South Asian countries have this mindset against the girl child. These nations have banned abortions and also sex determination. Abortions were carried out in the 20 week period when sex determination was possible at the earliest. The same period means the baby would have begun developing and thus it would be killing the infant. Abortion at this stage is infanticide. The governments opted against it.

Technology is redefining definitions everyday and this is just one casepoint. If you can eat an egg and be called a vegetarian, than why not? Eggs are an integral ingredient in cakes, and cakes are vegetarian. It all depends on the timing. If you eat a day before hatching or if you eat a freshly laid egg makes all the difference between a veggie and a non veggie.

Should the government now make a rule of one boy and one girl compulsory for all families while proceeding to promote the new test?(Keep in mind that no rules are being changed. The earlier rules regarding abortions would still be applicable after the 20 week period) A few women I spoke to were eager to opt for it.

Please proceed to the comments section and let me know why you think it should be/shouldn’t be. Would like to know what women think of it at the 6 week stage. Would you be willing to go for it?
