This book is part of her Hercules Poirot series.

.:My Review:.

The book begins in the 1930’s, when Hercules Poirot is on an aeroplane, (this is amazing because he is afraid of flying). The flight is from Le Bourge, France to Croyoy, England.

Jane Grey, is one of the last people to board the plane. She had tried to win the Irish Sweepstakes. Although she didn’t win first prize she won 100 pounds. This is the second time that she has flown. She is seated in seat number two.

On the other side of the gangway, Jane hears a loud high pitched women’s voice. She knew who it was immediately. The last time she had seen her was at a Casino, at Le Pinet, playing Baccarat.

Jane is thinking about her trip.

She had lost a lot of money while she was there, but had enough money to place two bets at the Roulette Table. There were no bets on numbers 5 or 6. She decide to put her chips on number 5. By mistake she placed it on number 6, and a man across from her bet on number 5.

The ball was spun, and the table turned as Jane held her breath until it stoped on number 6. Jane was upset as the croupier, raked away the chips, and gathered the ones to pay the winner.

The man asked Jane why she didn’t pick up her winnings. She told him because he was the winner. He insisted she was the winner, and so she took her winnings. when she picked up her chips, the man had vanished.

She spent the last two days of her vacation in Paris, and now was on her way home.

Back on the Plane

On the opposite side of the aisle was a little man, when had given his seat to a country woman. He went and sat next to a gray hair man, who had a flute case in front of him.

Behind them were two Frenchmen. In front of Jane was a young man, blue sweater.

The lady was Lady Horburn, who was travelling with her maid, Madeleine.

There were 21 passengers on the plane and half of them had been served lunch. Lady Horburn asks Madeleine to bring her red Moroccan Suitcase. She went and got it for her.

Suddenly one of the women dies. When Poirot examines her body, he sees that she has been stung by a wasp.

When they land Poirot helps the Surete and Scotland Yard go through the clues.

Poirot finds out that the women is a blackmailer. Every one on the aeroplane is a suspect.

Who was the woman who died? Who did the dastardly deed? A member of the crew or one or more of the passengers? I’ll never tell, you’ll have to read the book to find out.

.:My Thoughts:.

I have written about all of the clues that helped Hercules Poirot solve this mystery. If you are like me you didn’t discover the who the murder was and why the crime was committed.

Agatha Christie always has a lot of turns and twists in her books. She develops each character, so they seem real.

.:My Conclusion:.

I hope you have your coat on, and are ready to leave your home, to go to the closest Book Store to buy this book.
