Debt of Honor is a typical Tom Clancy book, but is a bit more slanted to the characters of the story than the technologies and the intrigues of the story like some of his earlier work.
This book continues in the Jack Ryan story line where he is pulled back into service as Americas National Sercurity advisor. Several events unfold and now America is in a wholly unexpected shooting war with one of its closest trading partners...Japan!
Also there are other types of war waged on both sides that I found very interesting.
As usual, this book runs around 800 pages long, and it does have Clancys attention to detail. There are several passages that I have read several times due to its excellent writing. The story is fairly beleivable, and the ending (which I didnt wholly care for) was still a shock! (that is a good thing in my book.)
Tom Clancys books in the Jack Ryan line (his main books if you will) are all very good, and this one is no exception. It is good for hours of good reading!
