The Worst

The lockdown has really brought out the worst in most online suppliers, but also the worst.


Made the mistake of ordering a small item. From Decathlon. Shud have visited this site before doing so. It has been a very bad experience, 21 Jul.


This supplier works on the model of minimum communication, minimum support.


The order, placed on 16 was to be picked up from store. Pick up date was given as 5 days from day of order, 21 Jul.


To track ur package, u log into the website (thee are no tracking details provided) The tracker just showed ’Order confirmed’’. No movement thereafter.


On 21st, decided to contact the local store. Got through in the 19th attempt. The phone is just not answered. The store curtly told me to contact them only after the online tracker shows ’Ready for delivery’. When I mentioned today was the day for delivery, he says ’there can be a 100 things that can happen and delay delivery’ Really?


There is a central customer care number to check on delivery status. An automated voice on that number tells u to track ur package online!


In respect mar to my emails, finally someone called up from Decathlon. He had the wrong package number, a package that had not been delivered since 01 Jul! So he apologised with a promise to call back with the correct package details and never did.


Now ai have an email saying the package will be delivered by 25 Jul. I am still waiting, but not holding my breath.
