If you need to place an ad in the Deccan Chronicle in Chennai DO NOT go to Ace Media in Kasturibai Nagar. They printed 2 line ads with a total of 21 typos. I provided them with a hard copy, a CD, AND I sent an email so they could simply cut and paste. They insisted on re-typing and were unable to even come close to a level of acceptability. They pay no attention to detail or format and apparently no one in the office even knows how to type. I also placed a display ad which they placed under the wrong heading. Who knows how much business I’ve lost because of thier oversights. They were full of promises to rectify the situation but the ad showed 7 typos in their efforts to satisfy me. And on top of all of this, Deccan Chronicle raised their line ad rates significantly as of October 1. So I got to pay nearly twice as much to give the impression to the general public that I don’t know how to spell or format as readers of classified will more readily place the blame on the business placing the ad rather on the newspaper itself. Quality control is nonexistent - incompetency reigns.
