This newspaper does not deserve to be called Deccan Chronicle. It should either be ’’Page3 Chronicle’’ or ’’Chronicle for titillations’’
Not many years ago this was indeed a very good newpaper. But now it has nothing to offer other than
Page3 gossips (when they feel that the Hyderabadi pubs are over exposed, they feature the Mumbai pubs. Any dumb guy/girl whom even their next door neighbours might be unaware of would be featured on the Page3. All that one has to do is visit the Hyderabadi pubs which are only a handful!)
Skimpily clad women (even the ads published feature women in least clothing)
Photographs of sexual content or outraging content which are lifted from ’’My Yahoo’’.
Weird and misleading suggestions to teen problems
Recently there was an article on the life of a bar dancer, where there was a picture of this hapless destitute covering almost half of the page. Ironically the picture seemed to rather focus on the background and not the girl. The picture showed only 30% of the girl and the rest 70% concentrated on a women’s nude painting in the background! So the very first look at the newspaper, one would see this nude girl riding a pair of Dolphins! Disgusting!
And after some religious group’s threats to Tennis player Sania Mirza, the newspaper had something ’’spicy’’ to offer. The photographer might have tried from all angles to capture her picture only from the pervert angle. When there are so many pictures of hers readily available any where, why should the newspaper publish the picture where the poor girl is struggling to cover her stomach? For Heaven’s sake, please let her concentrate on the game and not on her clothes.
Sania is Hyderabad’s pride and by projecting her wrongly the newspaper will not gain hype but would definitely earn the wrath of people.
Deccan Chronicle and likes should mend their ways before they lose their subscribers.
