You take one full cup of Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal each. Add a teaspoon each of Johny Lever, Sunil Shetty, Om puri and Dubey Ji (Monsoon Wedding). Keep cooking for 3 hours and you have a laugh riot ready in front of you.
Thats exactly what you have in store when you go and watch Deewana Hue Pagal.
To start with story... Theres something about Rimmi Sen. We all know that and have seen it very well in Shikdum number from Dhoom. There is no surprise that every one who sees her falls in love with her. When you have so many deewane throwing mud on each others face there is every chance the plot may become a mess. But not so in this Nadiawala movie.
Full marks to the whole team to recreate the Awaara Pagal Deewana fun.
The movie is a scene to scene remake of Theres something about Mary (except the chemical formula plot)
The movie scores on three areas
1) Each and every dialogue makes you laugh and jump from your seat. I could literally feel the my stomach ache and my jaws pain at the time of interval.
One thing I find hard to understand is that : whether the dialogies are specially designed for Paresh and Akshay or are they such big masters with excellent timings that every dialogue suits them !! Hats off to both.
Johny lever is excellent. Om puri, Dubey Ji and one more guy (whom I have seen in Great Indian comedy Show gags) have given great cameos. Sunil Shetty was OK, though not as close to Babu Rao from Hera Pheri. Shahid kappor and Rimmi Sen are also decent, though Shahid I think will take som time to mature.
2) Akshay Kumar+Sunil Shetty = Action++. The 20 minute desert stunt is excellent. The initial fight scenes are also cool.
3) The third thing that movie scores on is direction. The director has used the actors cleverly and has never left the plot go messy. If Sunil Shetty cant dance he hasnt been given a dance sequence. We know Paresh Rawal cant dance too, but who expects him to dance well, so hes in!!
Similarly if Shahid cant do Action then whats the need ?? With Sunil and Akshay who need bits and pieces!!
Now my favourite part of the review. The negatives :
1) Whats Vivek Oberoi is doing in the movie? He reminds me of the horrible time I had watching Kyon Ho gaya Na. Please Please director if you have time can you cut his scenes or better replace him!!
2) Music is boring and I can remember even a single song. The best song has been cut to just 20 seconds (not sure what it was but something like Teri chaal Sharaabi). There is another decent one with Shahid and Rimmi. But rest are boring and break the flow of the movie. Anu Malik stop copying and stop singing.=
Overall the movie is good and should pick up in the days to come. Go watch it!
P.S. Heard The film is also a good movie. Did any one see it?? Please tell !! I am planning to watch it tomorrow.
