Majestic City DEHRADUN

Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand near the Himalayan foothills. At its core is the 6 sided ghanta ghar Clock Tower. To the south-west is Paltan Bazaar, a bus shopping area. Just east is the Sikh temple gurdwara nanaksar topped with ornate white and golden domes. In Clement town to the city’s south-west, Mindrolling Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist center with shrine rooms in its great stupa. The cit offers a unique experience to everyone it could be aged person, a trekker or a person who loves to shop .


Places to see in Dehradun


Tibetan Buddhist temple: At a distance of 9 km from Dehradun Railway Station, the Tibetan Buddhist Temple, also known as Mindrolling monastery is situated at Clement Town. It was constructed in 1965 by Kochen Rinpoche and few other monks for the protection of religious & cultural understanding of Buddhism. the wall paintings inside the temple depicting the life of Buddha and guru padmasambhava. the complex comprises of a beautiful garden and a bookstore with stocks tibetan Books.


Robber’s Cave: It is commonly known as Guchu pani. It is  surrounded by majestic and beautiful hills and offers a wonderful trek up the mountains.


Sahastradhara: Sahastradhara means’thousand fold spring’ and is famous for its euphoric beauty and healing value since its water contain sulphur.


Forest research Institute: FRI was established in th year 1906. It is spread over a areas of 4.5 square kilometer and it has imposing Colonial and Greco-Roman stles of architecture.


Malsi Deer Park: It is located at the base of Shivalik range. It is azoological garden and it is home of two horned Deer, Leopard, Neelgai, Peacock and many other animals. this place is an ideal for picnic and is well maintained.


Food In Dehradun: Dehradun offers numerous choices, one must try the local cuisine. It includes kandalee ki saag, Aloo ke Gutke, Gulgula as well as it is famous for some traditional sweets that one just cannot resist such as Bal Mithai, Arsa, Jhangora ki Kheer and much more. Apart from the local flavours you can also relish North indian Cuisine, South Indian, Chinese, Italian, Thai, Tibetan and Continental cuisines in Dehradun.


Shopping In Dehradun: Dehradun has many markets where you buy things of our choice as well as it is pocket friendly. City’s pride Basmati rice can be bought from Paltan Bazaar at reasonable price. you can also buy shoes, bags etc. If you are looking for colourful and funny apparels then tibetan market is must to visit. There are other markets loke Indira market, Rajpur Road, Ashley hall etc which offers similar items at good price.

By Train: Dehradun is well connected by train from cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Ujjain, Varanasi, etc.


By Air: Dehradun airport is named as the Jolly Grant Airport it is located 20 km away from cit center. Air India, Jet Airways, Spice Jet are few flight services which have regular flights to Dehradun.
